Women on the labor market
Employment is the most important source of livelihood and of great importance for active participation in social life. The development on the Austrian labor market shows an increasing participation of women in the labor force. The employment rate of women aged 15 to 64 rose from 62% (2006) to 68% (2016), which was higher than in the EU-28 (61%). At the same time, women are still faced with various, sometimes contradicting, requirements. This information graphics give an overview of the circumstances women are facing on the labor market in Austria.
